The Howard and Morgan State Bears renewed their rivalry Saturday as part of NBA All-Star Weekend.
Two of the nation's most prominent historically Black colleges and universities are separated by just 45 miles. The inaugural HBCU Classic Game is an event designed to promote the efforts of the HBCU athletes and communities.
Howard won a tight game.
NBA All-Star Weekend is known for its celebrity appearances, NBA legends, major fashion statements, and everything in between. One of the sports world's biggest weekends has this historic game between the two teams. The HBCU Classic Game had artwork by students from HBCUs and a postgame panel.
There are some great moments from the event.
The unofficial Black national anthem, Lift Every Voice and Sing, is sung by actress and singer Keke Palmer to get things started.

The first point of the HBCU Classic was given by Morgan State's Chad Venning.
Spike Lee is with a retired basketball player. Lee is an HBCU graduate. In 1998 and 2012 Catchings won NCAA and NBA titles. She won the league's Most Valuable Player twice.
Khris Middleton is the NBA champion.
