The last year of his NBA career will be with his oldest son.

James told The Athletic that his last year will be with his son. I would play with my son for a year. It isn't about money at that point.

In his 19th NBA season, King James is still playing. The four-time NBA Most Valuable Player is in Cleveland, where he played for 11 years.

Two more years, and Bronny James will be a draft-eligible high school junior.

The Lakers have a contract with James through the 2022-23 season. With his son eligible for the NBA draft in the summer of 2024, it's possible that he'll sign a one-year deal somewhere and then wait and see where he lands.

It would be his 22nd NBA campaign when he turned 40.

The class of 2023 has a highly regarded prospect named Bronny James. He is a 4-star recruit who is ranked 34th overall in his class and sixth among combo guards.

The NBA has never had fathers and sons play at the same time. It has happened in the NHL with the Howe family. The Griffeys hit back-to-back home runs against the California Angels in 1990.

Maybe the James could make some history in a few years. If the NBA changes its one-and-done rule, it is possible the timelines could be expedited, but as Lloyd wrote, that would seem unlikely.
