Brian Flores was the head coach of the Miami Dolphins. Flores was hired by the Pittsburgh Steelers as a defensive assistant and linebackers coach.

I am excited about Brian Flores joining our coaching staff given his history of developing and teaching defensive players during his time in the NFL.

Teryl Austin was recently promoted to defensive coordinator after the retirement of Keith Butler, who also coached the team's outside linebackers.

Flores was fired as Miami's head coach last month, after three seasons in which he compiled a 24-25 record. He was the defensive play caller in Super Bowl LIII.

Flores, who was fired by the Dolphins, filed a lawsuit against the Dolphins, the Broncos, and the Giants, accusing them of discrimination in the interview process.

Flores alleged in the lawsuit that Miami owner Stephen Ross offered him $100,000 for every loss in his team in an effort to tank for a draft pick.

The Giants only interviewed Flores for their head coaching position in January in order to comply with the Rooney Rule, according to Flores.
