Kayla Freitas started collecting Disney popcorn buckets accidentally

Freitas attended a swap meet years before starting her travel channel, and she spotted a popcorn bucket that looked like a carriage.

Freitas told Insider that she bought the bucket for $5 because she thought it was a Disney collectible. She discovered they were selling the item for more than $100 online when she researched it later.

Freitas began to expand her collection a couple of years later.

She told Insider that once she had her daughter, it gave her an excuse to buy all the Disney stuff she wanted as a child.

Freitas says she doesn't have a collection niche and instead focuses on buying items that she finds interesting or unique.

Freitas said she now owns more than 50 buckets, which have ranged in price from $5 to over $100 each

Freitas told Insider that his most expensive bucket was the Figment one. I was happy to get it when I did, because they are going for thousands online.

The buckets were only sold at one booth in the park. Some people ran into the park to purchase them on the day they were released.

One reason why popcorn buckets are so expensive is that they are only sold at international parks. One example is a container from Tokyo Disneyland that looks like a lantern, lights up, and has a sidekick on its strap.

The Japanese theme park sold a Steamboat Willie bucket that was shaped like the character's ship, a color-changing version ofFrozen, and a version with interactive doors and a scream canister.

Freitas has to purchase these buckets for increased resale prices and then pay for international shipping.

She said it would be cool if Disney brought some of the creative ones to the US.

Freitas said that she has been buying popcorn buckets because her 1 million TikTok followers love to see them.

Freitas joked that he was not upset about buying more popcorn buckets.

She uses them in many different ways.

She said that she gets a daily question from Disney lovers about what to do with popcorn buckets.

I use them as purses. Freitas said she uses them as night lights and piggy banks. They have many uses.

Freitas says Disney fans love popcorn buckets because they're both practical and unique

Freitas told Insider that many people purchase buckets for $25 at Disney theme parks, store them in them, and then get cheaper popcorn at the park.

She said that it is cost-effective as far as a souvenir goes.

She said that many fans appreciate them because they are so unique and different.

She said that popcorn buckets are limited and only available at certain parks.

She said that popcorn buckets are more appealing if they are only for popcorn. They become an inexpensive but great souvenir if you can decorate them or wear them as a purse at the park.
