Passengers on Cruise Ship Where Woman Jumped to Her Death Want Carnival to Pay

Passengers who witnessed a woman jump off a cruise ship have been left traumatised, and they want the cruise line to do something to make up for it.

A woman jumped off the balcony into the ocean as Rhonda Turner and her family were enjoying their time on the Carnival Valor.

Rhonda and her family rushed to where the passengers were gathered. Rhonda says the scene was frightening. She could see the head of the woman who jumped into the water. Rhonda could not see the woman's head.

The woman jumped after being subdued. She got into a fight with a man in the hot tub.

Rhonda says the chaos left her and her family reeling, as helicopters hovered over the ship, trying to locate the woman. Her children were confused and upset.

Rhonda wants credit for another cruise and she wants Carnival to pony up. She is considering counseling because she is so traumatised.

The Coast Guard has suspended the search for the woman who jumped, and Carnival's CARE team is providing support for her family.
