The company plans to launch non-fungible token services. The cloud software company's employees signed a letter that called on it to abandon its plans for a digital currency. The negative environmental effects of NFTs are cited in the letter as well as their status as highly speculative financial assets.

CNBC reported last week thatSalesforce plans to launch a cloud sales platform that could compete with the OpenSea NFT marketplace. In December, Mathew Sweezey wrote that he was going to speak more about NFTs in 2022, although he was speaking generally about the tech world.

According to the report, not all employees at the company oppose the NFT plan. One of its opponents told the outlet that he would quit if the product was launched.

The core values of the company guide everything they do, including the development of their products, according to a statement. We will be having a listening session with employees next week and will use their input to strengthen our path forward.

During the Super Bowl last week, there was a huge publicity push by cryptocurrencies. Some companies have pulled back on their plans due to internal and external backlash. Team17 and GSC Game World canceled their NFT projects, and the platform Kickstarter said it would slow its transition to a blockchain protocol.
