The FDA cleared the app from Tandem Diabetes Care to program the t:slim X2 instument pump. The company said in a statement that it was the first phone app to be able to deliverinsulin. Delivery had to be done through the pump.

With this update, pump users will be able to program or cancel the meals that they take with their pump.

The change could make it easier for people who don't want to have pumps in pubic settings or attach them to bras.

The company is based in California. The mobile app already displays users blood sugar trends, history ofinsulin delivery, and any alert and alarms. It is available in the United States on both phones.

The new delivery update for select users will be launched this spring and will be followed by a wider launch this summer, according to the statement.
