The deal to buy back the old ground at Gigg Lane was completed by the fans.

The administrators of the two former FA Cup winners have been satisfied with the fan groups.

Steve Dale put the Shakers into administration in November 2020 after they were kicked out of the English Football League.

A new club has been set up since the demise of Bury.

They are ten points clear at the top of the North West Counties League First Division North.

Both fan groups would like to see the new Bury club and the old one work together in the future.

Matt Pickup of Est 1885 said that they want one club. All parties are going forward.

The working group we have with them has been positive and that will continue in the coming days and weeks.

He said that all parties were working on a goal of football returning to Gigg Lane in August, in time for the 2022-23 season.

He said that they want to get things done as soon as possible.

In October, a group headed by Est 1885 entered into an exclusive period of time to buy the club from the administrators.

Fans were promised 1 million dollars to buy the ground.
