Would it really be so wild to suggest that Barack Obama, while in office, kept his true personal style carefully guarded? Recall the uproar that his inoffensive tan suit caused in the summer of 2014, for instance, and then consider whether, come fall, you'd actually be excited to really start dressing. And since he's left office, President Obama's been tilting hard into style. Exhibit A: that '44'-embroidered bomber earlier this year. Exhibit B: this incredibly fresh suit he wore in New York City on Tuesday.

Gone are the mom jeans, the brown leather bombers, the Well, I'm golfing later sport-casual. In their place: a sharply cut, just-slim-enough dark navy suit with the faintest hint of Yes, I've got a Netflix deal shine; a pair of dad-appropriate sunglasses; slick black lace-ups; and the kind of crisp white shirt that you receive after you've hit the 100-hour mark with Richard Branson. Take a wave, Barack: you look great.
