Team USA lost to Canada in the bronze medal match while the Chinese pairs figure skating team set a world record for a short program with a score of 84.41 points. Heading into the free skate, they will have a narrow lead.

Beijing has the latest action.

Two-man bobsled heats have Meyer Taylor in 3rd

The two women bobsled team from the USA are trying to win their second medal at the Beijing Olympics. At the end of heats 1 and 2, with her teammate Sylvia Hoffman, they sat in bronze-medal position with a 2:02:79 finish (0.74 seconds behind the No. 1 spot) after two clean runs. Some small mistakes in the curves added time to her runs, as she finished fifth with teammate Kaysha Love. They finished at 2:03:38.

Laura Nolte and Deborah Levi won the gold medal in the first heat with a time of 2:03:05, and Mariama Jamanka and Alex Burghardt won the second heat with a time of 1:01:01, setting a new track record. The last two heats will start on Saturday. There is a time and place for this.

The two-women bobsled event at the Olympics has been a success for both of them, with both of them winning medals in every Olympics they have competed in. Humpries and Taylor both won medals for Team Canada and Team USA in the same year. This is the first time that she has represented the U.S. after a split with Canada.

The women's monobob event was a hit at the Winter Olympics. At 37 years and 127 days, she is the oldest US woman to win an Olympic medal.

Meyers Taylor will carry the flag

The flag-bearer will be Elana Meyers Taylor. She will be able to take the job.

The four-time Olympic bobsledder will carry the American flag into the closing ceremony of the Beijing Games.

She was not able to participate in the opening ceremony because she was in isolation after a positive test. Brittany Bowe led the U.S. delegation into the opening.

The other U.S. team, led by Timothy LeDuc, scored 74.13 points to slide into the lead. LeDuc is the first openly nonbinary Winter Olympian. The two teams are going into the free skate.

There was a match between the teams from Russia and the home country of Sui Wenjing and Han Cong. Sui and Han lost out on gold by a half a point, but today they came out to get every point possible. They set a new world record in the team event with 84.41 points. ROC has two athletes with 84.25 points, followed by their teammates Alexander Galliamov and Anastasia Mishina, and then Vladimir Morozov and Evgenia Tarasova.

The free skate is on Saturday. It is going to be crazy.

Gu wins another gold

Gu, who is one of only two women who competed in all three freeski events in Beijing, took her third medal and second gold in the halfpipe. She is the first freeski athlete to medal in three events.

Gu said she had more in store for the finals after the qualification. She scored 93.25 in her first run. She went even higher in her second run and added more spins and technicality, including back-to-back alley-oop flat spins for her final two hits. She was awarded with a score of 95.25, which held for the rest of the contest.

She said she had more tricks - well here are MORE TRICKS 💥Eileen Gu earns a 95.25 in her second run!!

Finland 2, Slovakia 1

The first men's hockey semifinals were played on Thursday night. Since 1988, the country has gotten two silvers and four bronzes in men's hockey. There have been six medals in the past nine Olympics. Saturday night will be the first gold for Finland.

Slovakia has never won a medal in men's hockey at the Olympics, but will play in the bronze-medal game on Saturday. The winner of the second semifinal will play the winner of the first semifinal.

Humphries and Love are ready to go

Kaillie Humphries won three golds in the Olympics.

Kaysha Love is a former track star who is training to be a bobsled driver.

The two will be together on Friday.

The duo won a World Cup in December together, despite Love's status as a rookies. They are medal favorites.

A tribute to Sarah Burke

It is impossible to watch women's freeskiing at the Olympics without thinking about Sarah Burke, a pioneer of the sport who fought for freeskiing to be included in the Games. Two years before freeskiing was added to the Olympics, Burke died in a halfpipe training accident.

Her influence is still felt in Beijing. The recipients of Sarah Burke Foundation scholarships competed at the Games.

Jackson with a look back at her origin story

We all have to start somewhere, and that's what the video shows. Jackson posted a video of her first time on the ice in 2016 when she decided to switch from inline skating to speedskating. The initial wobbles are to be expected, but the fact that she is looking somewhat competent not 10 minutes into her practice is something else. Some people are built differently.

Mascots getting stuck in doors

The world was not designed for large mascot costumes. People wearing inflatable panda costumes are not accommodated by most doors. Fortunately for these two, they were able to find help to get them through the worst of it.
