AD carried off court by teammates after apparent leg injury (1:38)

Anthony Davis was carried off the court by his teammates after he fell. There is a time and a place for this.

The Los Angeles Lakers announced that Anthony Davis will be out at least four weeks with a foot injury.

The team defeated the Utah Jazz 106-101 on Wednesday.

He had an X-ray that night at the arena that showed no broken bones, but the next day he had an MRI that showed a sprain.

The star big man will be reexamined in four weeks.

Rudy Gobert was hurt when Davis came down on his heels after catching a pass from Monk in the second quarter. Davis fell to the floor with his lower right leg in pain.

Sources told ESPN at the time that Davis had a lot of swelling in his ankle after the injury, and that he left the arena on crutches.

Davis had missed 17 games in a row from late December to late January with a left knee injury.

If the Lakers want to avoid the play-in tournament, they will have to finish ninth in the Western Conference. L.A. is four games ahead of New Orleans, who will need to win at least two of their remaining games to make the playoffs.

After the All-Star break, the Lakers have two games left in February, then play nine games through March 18.
