A judge in Manhattan called Donald Trump a "bad guy" in a rebuke to a lawyer who argued that the former president was being unfairly targeted.

At the end of the hearing, the state Supreme Court Judge ordered Trump and his family to comply with subpoenas and testify in a civil investigation.

Attorney Habba had argued that James should be protected from her investigation because he was part of a protected class.

Habba argued that Trump was being discriminated against because of his race.

Habba argued during the hearing that James dislikes this person because he is Donald Trump and he could probably win again. He can be a Republican.

There is no viewpoint discrimination. I'm just saying there is no.

Habba claimed that Trump was part of a protected class. What protected class is he in?

Habba said that if he wasn't a former president who might run again, this wouldn't be happening. She is discriminating against him because of that.

The judge and his clerk pointed out that protected classes include race, religion and sex.

Donald Trump doesn't fit that model. Is he a religion? The judge said that he was not a protected class.

I don't think that Ms. James has a thing against him. She should go after him as the chief law enforcement officer of the state.

After the two-hour hearing, the judge wrote in his ruling that when a state attorney general begins investigating a business entity, they uncover a lot of evidence of possible financial fraud, and want to question several of the entities' principals.

After Michael Cohen testified that the company was cooking the books, James wouldn't investigate.

He wrote that the three Trumps have the right to refuse to answer questions that may incriminate them.

James is looking into whether the Trump Organization lied about asset values to get loans and investors.

Mazars USA severed ties with the Trump Organization after 10 years of financial statements were unreliable.

The Trump trio were given 21 days to give depositions.

James said in a statement that justice prevailed.

No one will be allowed to stand in the way of the pursuit of justice.

#BREAKING: Today, a court ruled in our favor that Donald Trump must appear before my office as part of our investigation into his financial dealings.

No one will be permitted to stand in the way of the pursuit of justice, no matter how powerful they are.

The New York AG is James.

Trump's lawyers are likely to appeal the ruling.
