A massive storm system is forecast to bring snow, rain, floods, wind and severe weather to the central, eastern and southern US on Wednesday and Thursday.

On the cold side of the storm, snow is likely from northern Texas to northern New England.

More than 20 million people in the South are at risk of severe weather on Thursday, according to the Storm Prediction Center.

Weather.com said the storm should leave the Eastern Seaboard by Friday. There is a chance of rain all the way up the Northeast coast to Maine.

Here is when and where you can expect the storm.

Winter storm warnings have been issued for central Missouri and northern Illinois as the storm approaches.

Weather.com said that snow could be heavy in parts of the Midwest. The National Weather Service warned that there could be more than 2 inches of snow per hour.

AccuWeather said that on the northwestern edge of the storm, winds will pick up snow and limit visibility, with a period of whiteout or blizzard conditions not out of the question.
