Since news broke that Noah Hawley was making a TV show set in the Alien universe, we have been eager to learn more. Can we have it in our eyes right now, where is it set, who is in it, and so on? Several of those details have been revealed in the subsequent months and now there are even more.
We will start with that bad news. The fifth season of Fargo is going to be finished before Alien, according to John Landgraf.
The good news is that the world of the sci-fi series is already well-defined because of the progress that Hawley has made on Alien. As we already knew, that world is ours. Landgraf revealed a bit more about when in the overall Alien timeline that is when he said that Hawley's Alien will take place on Earth.
The first story in the Alien franchise takes place on Earth. It takes place on our planet, near the end of this century, so it is almost a modern Alien story. That seems to be both intriguing and confusing.
In the movies, we have the Weyland-Yutani Corporation, which is clearly also developing artificial intelligence, according to Hawley. Which technology is going to win? It is a classic science fiction question: does humanity deserve to survive?
