John Cho, Simon Pegg, Chris Pine, Karl Urban, and Zachary Quinto

Many of Paramount's stars will be going into space in the near future. The magic of cinema is not through a private space program. The studio gave the go-ahead to J.J.Abrams after announcing Beavis And Butt-Head Do The Universe.

Chris Pine, John Cho, Simon Pegg, and Karl Urban will reprise their roles in Star Trek 4. The director of Star Trek Into Darkness gave an announcement at the presentation. It was a happy Paramount investors day.

A new Star Trek film will be shooting by the end of the year and will feature our original cast and some new characters that I think are going to be really fun and exciting. We have a bunch of other stories that we think will be really exciting, so we can wait for you to see what we're cooking up. Live long and prosper.

The new film will not be directed by either Lin orAbrams. Star Trek 4 will be led by a TV veteran, Matt Shakman, who is coming off the success of WandaVision.

The last time we saw Pine was in Star Trek Beyond, a movie that was plagued by production issues and lost its original director. The film cost more than 200 million dollars and was a modest hit.

Chris Pine was running through time with Wonder Woman and other Trek franchises started to pick up steam, including that Star Trek gangster project by Quentin Tarantino. Beavis and Butt-Head were not going to be the first ones to make it to space.

Variety has a story on it.
