In a hearing about whether the former president should be forced to sit for a deposition about his company, a lawyer from the New York Attorney General's office was asked if they would go after Hillary Clinton.

Habba asked Wallace if he would go after Clinton for what she was doing to his client. Are you going to look into her business dealings?

Habba was stopped from talking about Clinton by the judge.

He said that the Clintons are not before him.

The conspiracy theory that Clinton spied on Trump while he was in the White House has been spreading through right-wing media.

Insider said it was due to a misreading of court documents filed by the special counsel. A lawyer with connections to Clinton obtained nonpublic data from the White House via a technology executive who had legal access to the data, according to a filing.

The lawyer was charged with lying to the FBI, but it did not accuse the lawyer or the tech executive of espionage or hacking. The motion to dismiss the case against him was filed Thursday.

A court hearing was held on Thursday to hear arguments on an unrelated issue. James is looking into the finances of the Trump Organization and whether it broke bank, tax, and insurance laws. Donald Trump and his children were subpoenaed to sit for depositions.

Lawyers for Trump and the Trump Organization said that James should be required to ask a grand jury to force testimony if they were granted immunity in the case. James is running her civil investigation in conjunction with a criminal investigation that has already been empaneled a grand jury.

Habba said that the only reason she is doing this is because James is a former president.

Wallace noted that the Trump Organization acquiesced to the scope of the inquiry.

Wallace disagreed with the idea that James targeted Trump because of his personal animus.

This person was familiar with the office and had legal issues around fraud. I don't think any of this would suggest that there was an improper purpose.

He said that the legal issues are not unique and that the president is a citizen. He has to look like anyone else.
