The newest ancient attraction in Naples will allow visitors to travel 2500 years back in time when it opens in June.

Some of the most spectacular historic sites in the world can be found in Naples. If you want a glimpse into the ancient world, you should visit Pompeii and Herculaneum, both frozen in time by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius. The National Archaeological Museum is close to the city's main attractions.

In June, visitors will be able to explore a new ancient site or underground tomb that is 400 years old.

There are many things to do in Naples.

The Ancient Greeks built Ipogeo dei Cristallini in the late fourth and third century BC, when Naples was a Greek city. It is an ancient network of burial chambers located deep in the bowels of the city.

The ancient Greek art and architecture of the burial chambers of the early inhabitants of Naples will be on display.

Naples is a cinematic city of sea, soul and skulls.

The sites have been closed to the public since 1889, when the Baron di Donato discovered the hypogeum while excavating the grounds of his palace for a water source.

Giampiero and his family petitioned for the site to be overseen by Italy's Central Institute forConservation after an archaeologist convinced them to open the treasure of ancient Greek history and art to the public.

The archeaologist asked us to visit the Hypogeum, and after entering the most beautiful of the four rooms, he exclaimed, "My dear, how much beauty, I would like to live here." We realized that it was time to take care of the place that had been closed for a long time.

There are carved columns, sculptures, ancient inscriptions, vases, symbols of resurrection, carved mattresses and pillows, and ancient Greek frescoes in the burial chambers.

There is a scene depicting the ancient Greek mythological figures of Dionysus and Ariadne in one of the most decorative rooms.

We have given a lot of thought to how to value and enhance the great heritage we were given, and we understood soon enough that the desire was not only to restore those wonderful frescoes to their original beauty, but also to bring an ever wider audience closer to Greek art. Art belongs to everyone, and anyone who manages an asset like this has a duty to make it easy to understand.

There are 12 places to visit in Italy.

The Verginia Royal Tombs in North Macedonia, which is believed to contain the bones of a person, is the only tomb complex that compares to the Ipogeo dei Cristallini tomb complex.

The hypogeum shows that Naples was a top-ranking cultural city in the ancient Mediterranean.

Before you go to Naples, you need to know everything.

Ipogeo dei Cristallini will be open for pre-booking small group tours when it opens in June. There are 700 artifacts from Ipogeo dei Cristiallini on display at the National Archaeology Museum.
