According to sources, the Utah Jazz fear that forward Joe Ingles suffered a significant left knee injury during Sunday night's 126-106 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves. The team said he will have an exam in Salt Lake City.

Ingles buckled his knee on a drive to the basket in the second quarter, causing him to crumple to the court. According to sources, Ingles needed help to get to the locker room, and an initial examination showed a serious knee injury.

Utah assistant head coach Alex Jensen, who was filling in for head coach Quin Snyder due to being in health and safety protocols, said he felt bad for him.

Ingles has been a vital part of the Jazz for eight seasons, and this season he has averaged 7.4 points, 2.9 rebound and 3.5 assists in 25.2 minutes per game. He was the runner-up for the NBA Sixth Man of the Year Award.

The final year of the contract pays $13 million.

Rudy Gobert missed his fourth game with a left calf strain and All-Star guard Donovan Mitchell missed his seventh game with a concussion.

The Jazz dropped five straight and eight of 10 games to move into fourth place in the Western Conference.
