Number 10 confirmed that Boris Johnson has been given an update into the partygate inquiry being overseen by Sue Gray.
The prime minister will make a statement to the House of Commons at mid-afternoon.
Before Johnson speaks, the update will be made available to the public.
After the Metropolitan Police requested that Gray make a minimal reference to the events under criminal investigation, it's not clear what form this will take.
The Cabinet Office said it just after 11 a.m. We can confirm that Sue Gray gave an update on her investigations to the Prime Minister.
His spokesman told reporters this morning that he spoke with Gray on Sunday about the timing of the publication, but did not discuss the details of the report.
Johnson has been meeting MPs privately and in small groups over the last fortnight in a bid to shore up support, with one backbencher telling Insider he had pleaded for his job.
He insists that he did not break any rules at the time, despite attending at least two events that broke England's COVID-19 rules.
Johnson told broadcasters that he would stick to what he had said in the past.
You will have to wait and see what Sue says and what the Met says.
