Miss USA 2019 Cheslie Kryst Dead at 30 from Suicide, Jumped from NYC Apartment

The Miss USA died after falling from her high-rise home in New York City. The website has confirmed.

The NYPD responded to a call at the Midtown apartment building on 42nd Street. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Police believe that a person jumped from the 9th floor of the building.

According to the NY Post, she was last seen on the 29th floor terrace.

Just a few hours before she died, she posted a photo of herself on the social media site, with the caption, "may this day bring you rest and peace."

Miss North Carolina Kryst won the top prize at the Miss USA competition. She worked as a correspondent for Extra after winning the title of attorney.

She used her platform as Miss USA to speak about criminal justice reform. She joined us to discuss that topic.

She left a note saying she was leaving everything to her mother. Her great light was one that inspired others around the world with her beauty and strength. She cared, she loved, she laughed and she shined.

As a daughter, sister, friend, mentor and colleague, we know her impact will live on.

He was 30 years old.
