Venue cancels a J.D. Vance campaign event after anger that Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene would join the meet-and-greet, report says

According to the Cincinnati Enquirer, an Ohio venue pulled out from hosting a rally for Hillbilly Elegy just days before it was scheduled to take place.

The Landing Event Center in suburban Cincinnati was to be the site of a meet-and-greet on Sunday for a Republican Ohio Senate candidate.

The management of the venue asked the campaign to find a different location after learning that it would feature a controversial lawmaker.

The venue manager told the Enquirer that they didn't know that the politician from Georgia was a special guest.

She said that people are passionate about what they believe. We were looking at what was happening. We did not know there would be a guest.

The Enquirer reported that Taylor received a lot of complaints about the appearance.

The reason for the relocation was cited in a statement posted to Facebook by the Landing Event Center.

Taylor said that the venue did not want to get political.

The Marriott Cincinnati Northeast is where the event will be held.

The campaign did not respond to the request for comment.
