'SNL' hatches a plan to counter Russian disinformation: An absolutely savage high schooler

Saturday Night Live spent its latest cold open sketch weighing in on the Russian-Ukraine conflict, as well as Russia's reputation, earned during the U.S. presidential election in 2016 and all the years that followed.

In the sketch, President Joe Biden is in the Oval Office, where he is receiving a report on Russia's efforts to spread false information about Ukraine. There are some solid moments, including a brief appearance from Pete Davidson and Chris Redd, as a Russian version of Jake from State Farm, but it falls a little flat.

The punchline of the sketch is a savage, social media-savvy high schooler who understands the psychological warfare. It is a cold open to say the least.
