T-Mobile will fire some of its unvaccinated employees by April according to an internal memo.
The story was first reported Saturday.
Employees who have not taken action to receive their first dose and upload proof by February 21 will be placed on leave. T-Mobile will be separated from affected employees who don't become fully vaccined by April 2.
Insider's Mary Hanbury reported that other large companies have announced similar plans in recent weeks.
T-Mobile did not reply immediately to Insider's request for comment.
T-Mobile said in a statement that office workers with limited exception for certain roles, locations and legally mandated accommodations and exemptions are required to be fully vaccined by April 2.
Deeanne King, T-Mobile's executive vice president and chief human resources officer, wrote in a memo that they understand that for some, this means they must make a deeply personal decision.
HQ employees are affected by the move. Field technicians and most in-store retail employees will not be affected, although they are encouraged to get vaccinations or carry on with regular testing.
T-Mobile, among other companies, decided independently to uphold the vaccine mandate despite the US Supreme Court ruling that temporarily blocked President Joe Biden's vaccine-or-testing mandate for companies with more than 100 employees.
