According to a source, the former USC quarterback is transferring to Ole Miss.
Ole Miss was the school that Dart chose over Oklahoma and BYU.
The desire to develop under Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin was a factor in Dart's decision. He came away from his visit to Ole Miss impressed with the plan the staff has for him.
The tight-knit nature of the community in Oxford and how important the program is in the area was something Dart came to appreciate on his visit to Ole Miss. His potential to grow under Kiffin in the wide-open offense was the deciding factor.
The option to return to USC was also available to Dart. The new USC coaching staff made it clear to Dart that he was welcome back to compete for the starting job. He and his family were more comfortable going to a place where he could control his future.
A true freshman at USC, Dart started three games and played in three others. He completed 61.9 percent of his passes and scored nine goals. His best game was against Washington State, where he threw for 391 yards and four touchdown.
In the year 2021, Dart was ranked 19 in the ESPN 300. Washington quarterback Sam Huard was the only one ahead of him at the quarterback position.
Another Top 20 prospect will be transferring to Ole Miss. Evans, a tailback in the class of 2020, decided to attend Ole Miss earlier in the month.
With the departure of Matt Corral, who threw for 3,349 yards and 20 touchdown in 2021, Dart will be the favorite to win the starting job at Ole Miss.
