Pet mountain lions sound like an oxymoron, but the state of Oklahoma is wondering if such ownership is really a bad idea.

The government department posted a photo of a mountain lion lying in the snow with the caption "You are cold". They have fur. The advice was shared more than 22,000 times and people expressed an interest in petting or owning a mountain lion.

I was so scared that I was going to wake up in the morning and people were going to pet mountain lions, that I decided to stop.

The mountain lion was inspired by a meme that shows a mountain lion with the phrase "If you're cold, bring them inside".

In a playful way, the wildlife department explained that people shouldn't let mountain lions in. When users started to playfully disagree in the comments, the tweet spread.

More than 3000 people commented on the post and thousands more responded in the comments. Southerland stayed up until 3 a.m. to fight back against people who wanted mountain lions to be inside.

Southerland has a battle with people on the internet over mountain lion pet ownership. She had to call her supervisor and tell her that she needed to add to the corgis.

Hill said that most people know that mountain lions are not big house cats and are very dangerous. He said that people want to think they can keep animals as pets despite knowing it is a bad idea.

In Oklahoma, keeping mountain lions as pets is against the law, as they are wild animals.
