Kansas City Chiefs cut Damon Arnette after arrest in Las Vegas on gun, drug charges

The Kansas City Chiefs released the former first-round draft pick after he was arrested on gun and drug charges in Las Vegas.

He was not with the team as it prepared for the game, because his contract with the team was not due to start until the next league year.

According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Arnette was jailed in Las Vegas early Saturday morning on two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, carrying or concealing a gun without a permit, possession of marijuana or cannabis, and possession of a controlled substance.

The Las Vegas Raiders released Arnette in November after video surfaced of him making death threats while brandishing firearms. There are lawsuits stemming from a Las Vegas car accident.

The Raiders selected Arnette in the first round of the 2020 draft. He played in 13 games for them and started seven.
