A man has been arrested after a report of racist abuse directed at a pundit.

Police said that the man was held on suspicion of a racially-aggravated public order offence.

The abuse took place close to where the ITV team were analyzing the match.

Supt Phil Staynings made it clear that racist abuse would not be accepted by the police.

He said that the force worked with the club on the investigation.

Supt Staynings said that he was pleased that his officers had been relentless in securing the positive arrest.

We will continue to work with the club to stamp out hate crime that spoils matches for the majority of supporters.

The man was taken to Gablecross Police Station after his arrest on Saturday.

After the game, the owner of Swindon apologized to Mr Cole and said that racial abuse of any kind would not be accepted.
