These days, a good gaming headset is a necessity. Competitive gaming requires clean and precise audio so that you can communicate effectively with your teammates. Recent developments in spatial audio and virtual surround sound have allowed headsets to meet, and sometimes surpass, more expensive audio setup, allowing even the most budget-conscious gamer to obtain a competitive edge at a fraction of the price.

If you invest in a massive pair of speakers, you're likely to be the worst roommate of the decade. Thankfully, the right headset will allow you to keep the running and gunning to yourself, which is why we have rounded up a collection of the best deals you can currently find on some of our favorite models.

We have broken the deals down into two categories: wired and wireless. The former is for people who want a less cluttered setup, while the latter is for people who want a more budget-friendly headset.

The best wireless gaming headset deals

Logitech G435

It's compatible with PC, PS4, PS5 and Nintendo Switch.

The boldest headset on our list is the Logitech G435, it's perfect for anyone that isn't afraid to make a statement. The headset is available in blue at Amazon and Walmart for a modest $21 discount.

This headset is compatible with PCs, consoles, and mobile devices. The included cable can be used to charge and listen at the same time, even though it lacks the traditional 3.5mm audio jack.

The lightweight headset lacks the boom-mic design used by other headsets in this category, but it still provides an adequate audio input solution. The added benefit of this is that you can wear the headset in public without broadcasting your gaming status.

The G435 Lightspeed is a lightweight and comfortable wireless gaming headset that won't break the bank. It is compatible with the Nintendo Switch and PC. You can use it to listen to music or pick up calls.

Razer BlackShark V2 Pro

It's compatible with PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch.

The wireless version of the BlackShark headset is currently discounted to $139.99 at Gamestop and $149.99 at Amazon. This isn't the lowest price we've seen, but it's still a solid discount on an excellent gaming headset that normally retails for $179.99.

The BlackShark V2 Pro is perfect for long play sessions. The only break in its otherwise innocuous profile is a dedicated knob on the right earcup that allows for quick adjustments to volume when necessary. The headset has a 3.5mm audio jack and can be used with 2.4 GHz wireless thanks to the included dongle, but it doesn't have a built-in gps device. The V2 Pro is capable of 7.1 surround sound, but you have to purchase a separate license from Razer.

The V2 Pro can last up to 24 hours on a single charge, making it one of the longest- lasting headphones on the market. It still relies on Microusb for charging.

The wireless version of the headset is light and comfortable. This model has a boom mic and volume knob.

Razer Barracuda X

It's compatible with PC, PS4, PS5 and Nintendo Switch.

One of the more versatile and affordable options when it comes to wireless gaming headsets is the Razer Barracuda X. The black version is currently on sale at Target, Amazon, and GameStop for $79.99, which is $10 shy of its best price to date.

The Barracuda X is a fairly unremarkable headset at first glance, but it is actually lighter than the BlackShark series of headsets. The design of the Barracuda X sets a strong precedent for future designs, as our initial impressions show, even after several hours of wear.

The lack of a 3.5mm audio cable makes the Barracuda X a poor choice for mobile gaming, but you won't have to rely on a 3.5mm audio cable to use the headset with your Nintendo Switch. The PS4 and PS5 can be connected to the internet with the included dongle, but only if you use a wired connection.

Razer Barracuda X

The new gaming headset, the Barracuda X, costs $100 and comes with a audio transmitter. It's an easy choice if you game mostly on the go with a Nintendo Switch or a PS5. It's compatible with other platforms via the includedusb-a adapter.

Victrix Gambit Wireless Gaming Headset

It's compatible with Nintendo Switch, PC, and Xbox Series X/S.

The parent company of Victrix has been developing headsets and other accessories for a while. The Victrix Gambit is a well-rounded wireless headset with a focus on esports and two different models dedicated to Microsoft and PS4. The headset has a familiar design, with ear cups and a headband, and the boom mic can be flipped up to quickly mute it. There is a button on the left earcup that allows you to switch between three levels of mic sensitivity.

The headset can last up to 16 hours on a single charge, but it is reliant on Microusb for charging, like the BlackShark 2 Pro. The compatibility of the headset depends on which model you pick up, which is disappointing but can be bypassed if you use a 3.5mm audio connection.

The lowest price to date for the Xbox and PS3 models is $129.99. The PS3 model is on sale for $78.70 at Amazon and Walmart, while the Xbox model is on sale for $110.50 at Amazon and Target. If you are going to use this headset with your PC, you will need to purchase the Xbox model.

The Victrix Gambit is a wireless gaming headset that has good sound quality and controls that are easy to use. Unlike many of the headsets in this guide, the Gambit doesn't use MicroUSB to charge.

Logitech G Pro Gaming Headset

It's compatible with PC, PS4, PS5 and Nintendo Switch.

The wired category's top entry gets serious points for opting for a clean aesthetic. The Logitech G Pro headset is currently available at a steep discount at a number of stores. This is one of the lower prices we have seen for this particular headset, which was already a substantial value prior to the current discount.

The G Pro is very simple in appearance, with no knobs or buttons, and no extra ports, except for a second 3.5mm audio jack for the boom mic. The G Pro comes with a 3.5mm audio cable, as well as a velour ear pads that can be swapped with the standard leatherette earcups, as well as an external USB DAC that can be used to fine- tune your audio experience on PC.

The wired version of the gaming headset has the same look and sound as the wireless version.

HyperX Cloud II

It's compatible with PC, PS4, PS5 and Nintendo Switch.

The HyperX Cloud II is a simple and effective headset that is currently on sale for $29.99 at Amazon and Best Buy. This is the lowest price we have seen for this headset.

The Cloud II is a versatile, wired headset that is remarkably comfortable and features audio fidelity that is typically reserved for headsets that cost twice as much. There is a virtual 7.1 surround sound mode in the 53mm drivers delivery sound that is similar to what we found in the wireless version. The headset has an inline remote that can be used to adjust the volume of both the mic and audio.

The HyperX Cloud II is still an excellent option if you want to use it with all modern consoles and mobile devices.

The wired HyperX Cloud II has the same features as the wireless version. This includes a virtual 7.1 surround when using ausb connection with your PC thanks to an inline DAC.
