The dominoes are starting to fall after the New York Giants hired the Buffalo Bills' Brian Daboll as their next head coach.
According to Adam Schefter, Bills quarterbacks coach Ken Dorsey will either be promoted to the OC job or become the Giants' offensive coordinator.
The Bills quarterbacks coach is 40-year-old Dorsey. He oversaw the growth and development of quarterback Josh Allen, a two-time Pro Bowler who has emerged as one of the game's bright stars.
The former University of Miami star quarterback, who helped lead the 2001 Hurricanes to a national title, played professionally from 2003-2010.
He was the quarterbacks coach for the Carolina Panthers from 2013 to 2017. During that time, the Carolinas made the playoffs in four of five seasons, and quarterback CamNewton won the 2015 NFL Most Valuable Player award.
The Bills staff has a great relationship with Allen.
When he got here three years ago, my career changed a lot. Allen told reporters about how he viewed football and how he had a guy in the room that played the game.
He works his ass off, just the way he approaches the game. I appreciate what he has done for me in my career so far.
There was a lot of talk about other coaching jobs at the time. Allen publicly endorsed for the OC role should the job go to someone else.
The Bills would keep Allen in the loop on the team's decision if they lost their OC.
As for what may happen on the Giants and Bills staffs, Art Stapleton of the Bergen Record speculated on what could be next.
Art Stapleton @art_stapletonI mentioned Wink Martindale as possible DC with Daboll and Giants. As for Ken Dorsey, if he doesn't land as OC in Buffalo, you could probably put that one in stone with Daboll here with Giants.
Still don't see how Bills don't elevate Dorsey ... https://t.co/Lvx6hkrdo5
