Gun Kyle Rittenhouse Used In Kenosha Shootings To Be Destroyed, Judge Rules

The gun Kyle Rittenhouse killed two people and wounded another with during a 2020 protest will be destroyed, a Wisconsin judge ruled Friday.

According to the Associated Press, an agreement was approved by the district attorney of the county to destroy Rittenhouse's rifle.

The weapon will be destroyed by the Kenosha Police Department and video evidence will be provided to all parties.

Mark Richards, Rittenhouse's attorney, filed a motion on January 19 requesting that the items that were on his person the day of the shooting be returned to him.

At the end of the day, two people lost their lives, according to Rittenhouse's spokesman. It doesn't belong in a museum. Kyle wants it destroyed, and it belongs to him.

In 2020, Rittenhouse shot and killed two people and injured another during a protest over the police shooting of a Black man. Rittenhouse was acquitted on charges of intentional homicide, reckless homicide, attempted first-degree intentional homicide and recklessly endangering safety in November after a trial that drew nationwide attention and controversy. Rittenhouse's legal team argued that the teen was acting in self-defense and that he was celebrated by many conservatives. Many on the left felt that Rittenhouse's acquittal was evidence of a broken system because prosecutors painted him as a vigilante.
