The Miami Dolphins have narrowed their list of head-coaching candidates to three.
Ian Rapoport said on The Pat McAfee Show that the Dolphins are going to pick between Brian Daboll, Kellen Moore and Mike McDaniel.
The Dolphins spoke with several candidates during their first round of interviews, according to the Miami Herald.
Rapaport reported on Thursday that the front office of Miami will conduct second interviews with the finalist next week.
Over the course of the season, all three of the finalist have seen their stock rise, with both of them generating a lot of positive buzz based on how their teams have performed in the playoffs.
The Buffalo Bills have an offensive coach in Daboll. Over the past four seasons, he has helped oversee the development of Josh Allen. The Bills have had a top-eight offense in each of the past two seasons.
Kyle Shanahan has been one of his top assistants since he was hired as the head coach of the San Francisco 49ers. The previous four years he was their run-game coach.
The 49ers have averaged at least 118.1 rushing yards per game over the last three seasons. Their offense was ranked fifth in Football Outsiders.
Moore has been the Dallas Cowboys offensive coach for three seasons. They had the top-ranked offense in the league by total yards and points.
Brian Flores was fired as the head coach of the Dolphins at the end of the season after they finished third in the division with a 9-8 record. They have posted back-to-back winning seasons for the first time since 2002-03, but haven't made the playoffs in a while.
