Bestmonitor for ChromebooksAndroid Central2022

We have rounded up the best Chromebooks monitors for any situation. Sometimes you just want to sit down, relax, and do your thing with a big external display, even if you have a Chromebooks. Every laptop has at least one port to send video out to an external display. Our top recommendation for a monitor to use with a Chromebooks is the incredible LG 24UD58, but we have also rounded up other great options with lower resolutions and price points that will match perfectly with one of the best Chromebooks.

This is the source of LG.

The LG 24UD58 may not be as pretty as other options, but it has gone out of its way to give users a great experience. This monitor has a 4K resolution, which is great for people who want to get work done and play a game. If you use your monitor with another machine, there are multiple preset modes so you can game in the best conditions.

With Screen Split 2.0 and on-screen controls, the 24UD58 is a great companion. The on-screen controls give you a lot of different settings to adjust and personalize, so you get the best experience possible regardless of what you are doing.

You will be stuck using either HDMI or DisplayPort as the 24UD58 does not have a compatible option. When the competition is getting smaller, the size of the screen is larger than we would expect from a desktop monitor. If you need to change the height of the 24UD58, you will need to find a monitor stand of your own.

  • Compatible with VESA mounts
  • Built-in software for easier window management
  • Various display pre-set modes included
  • Multiple connection options
  • No USB-C
  • Bezels bigger than similar options
  • Included stand not adjustable

A solid 4K monitor.

Those who need to multi-task on the bigger screen will love the 4K Ultra HD monitor from LG.

Sceptre is a source.

If you don't care about 4K for your second screen, there are some significant savings. The Sceptre E248W-19203R is a monitor with a Full HDIPS display, adaptive-sync technology, and up to a 75Hz refresh rate with 5ms response time. There is a near-bezel-less design on the 24 inch model, but it is only available on the slim and frameless model.

Sceptre has a sleek design and built-in speakers so you can still play music while you work. With adaptive sync, you will be able to bridge the gap between your built-in graphics card and the 75Hz refresh rate to reduce stuttering or image tearing.

If you want to save space in your home office, you can mount the stand to the wall on the VESA mount standard. This is a lot of monitor at this price, but if that suits your needs, there is a lack of connectivity options.

  • 24-inch frameless design looks great
  • Great value for a Full HD monitor
  • Compatible with VESA wall mounts
  • Built-in speakers
  • Only offers HDMI and VGA
  • Not as futureproof as a 4K monitor

If you don't care about 4K, this is a great option.

You don't have to spend a lot to get a great monitor, and the 24 inch HD monitor from ASUS proves it.

BenQ is the source.

Even if you are not familiar with the name, you will find monitors from BenQ on any best-of list.

Adding an intelligent optimization to the already-solid HDR experience is what the EW3280U has. The monitor will project the best picture possible if it analyses the lighting around it. It has special display modes for creators, such as Darkroom and Animation modes, to protect your eyes. The baseline standard is a 60Hz refresh rate and 5ms response time.

You can daisy-chain a pair of monitors with the monitor's two USB-C ports, as well as its HDMI and DisplayPort inputs. This monitor has a remote to switch inputs, change the picture quality, and control the volume without having to reach up to the monitor itself.

This is one of the best Chromebooks monitors, but it comes at a hefty price. Check our full review to find out more about it.

  • Full-featured 4K HDR monitor
  • Excellent color accuracy
  • Custom display modes for creatives
  • Built-in speakers
  • Comes with remote
  • Quite expensive
  • Sizes might be too large for some

A 4K monitor does it all.

You can dock your Chromebook without having to worry about cables with BenQ's easy to switch between sources.

Dell is the source.

The U2520DR is an excellent example of why Dell is a big name when it comes to monitors. This 25-inch monitor has a resolution of 1920x1080 and has a range of viewing angles, including the ability to tilt and adjust the height. The U2520DR is compatible with 100 x 100mm VESA mounts, so you can put the monitor on the wall or use your own monitor stand.

The built-inusb-c port provides power for laptops up to 90W. It makes it easy to switch between different computers and Chromebooks because of the plug-and-play function. Dell included a number of peripherals options, including two standardUSB 3.0 ports, a HDMI port, and dual DisplayPort options, so that the monitor can act as a hub.

The U2520DR has a 3.5mm jack, but we would have liked to see built-in speakers. It will still be more than adequate for just about everything else, even though it will be disappointed with the limited refresh rate.

  • USB-C port can deliver power up to 90W
  • ComfortView reduces eye fatigue
  • Monitor stand is adjustable
  • VESA Wall mount compatible
  • No built-in speakers
  • Refresh rate limited to 60Hz
  • Only one size option

For more real estate, ultra- slim bezels.

An ideal second screen with extra real estate, this 4K monitor is ideal for your home office.

The source is asus.

If you want a second display for your laptop, you might want to use the Chromebooks. The ZenScreen MB16AC is a portable monitor with an optional battery and a port that can be used for Thunderbolt 3-enabled devices.

The monitor has a Smart cover that folds up into a kickstand in either landscape or portrait mode, depending on how you want to use it. You can only connect to the MB16AC with the only port for connecting peripherals being a USB-A port.

If you need touch support for your secondary display, you can get a model that ships with a compatible smartpen from ASUS. It may be portable, but it is not as rugged as your Chromebook.

  • Lightweight
  • Automatically senses screen orientation
  • Also designed to work with smartphones
  • Thunderbolt 3-compatible
  • Not as rugged as we'd like
  • Only USB-C for connecting
  • Pen hole is a weird design choice

A monitor that is portable and easy to use.

The ASUS is so easy to use that it might be just as useful as your Chromebook.

Dell is the source.

When compared to the MacBook lineup, people love Chromebooks because they are more budget-friendly. Dell proves that you don't have to spend a lot to get a great monitor with the SE2722HX, an upgraded version of the brand's SE2719H monitor.

You can buy the cheaper SE2722HX if you prefer a larger model. The SE2722HX has an extra workspace and is slightly brighter than the smaller one.

This monitor has a traditional 16:9 aspect ratio, giving you a picture that you should be used to. Its response time is as low as 5ms, meaning you will have no mouse lag. Like most Dell monitors, it has anIPS panel that makes it viewable from all sides up to 178 degrees. If you don't have an HDMI port, you'll need ausb orusb-c adapter to connect to it.

The display is limited to 1920x1080 at 60Hz, which is not the most beautiful or fast-refreshing display you can buy, but most Chromebook users aren't interested in spending extra on upgrades they don't need. This is a practical and affordable display, with a compact stand and slim bezels, that will fit on your desk.

  • Ultra-slim bezels on three sides
  • Wide viewing angle
  • VESA Wall mount compatible
  • Great price
  • No support for 4K or HDR
  • Only HDMI and VGA for connectivity
  • Limited adjustment with the included stand

It's a great way to save money.

The Dell SE2722HX is proof that you don't need to spend a lot of money on a high-resolution display.

The source is the SAMSUNG

You will never want to go back to a normal monitor after using one of the best. The 21:9 aspect ratio and WQHD resolution of the SJ55W make it a great choice for home use. The monitor was designed for multitasking.

You can connect another computer to the SJ55W or be more productive with thePIP screen thanks to the Picture-by-Picture and Picture-in-Picture modes. A glossy finish is fine for some, but problematic if there is a glare source. You won't worry about glare wiping out part of your monitor if you have a matt finish.

You're limited in using this with DisplayPort because of the added support for FreeSync and the faster refresh rate. If you want to take advantage of the faster refresh rate, you have to use a DisplayPort cable. It is important to note that getting used to the extra screen real-estate takes some getting used to.

  • Matte finish removes concerns about glare
  • Features PBP and PIP
  • Compatible with AMD FreeSync
  • Stand is easily adjustable
  • Faster refresh rate and FreeSync limited to DisplayPort
  • Ultrawide monitors take some getting used to
  • Might be overkill with a Chromebook
">Samsung Sj55w Lifestyle

You can enjoy the screen real estate.

If you use your Chromebooks to get work done, the SJ55W is a great companion.

Sceptre is a source.

The Sceptre C305W falls under the category of the best gaming monitors. If you want to try out a curved monitor, this is a great option. The monitor has a 1920x1080 resolution, which is fine for most, but it won't be as crisp on a 30-inch monitor like a 4K or even QHD monitor.

With the curve, you will be more immersed in what you are doing. Sceptre has a mode to help reduce eye fatigue. You can mount this wherever you want with the C305W compatible with 100x 100mm VESA mounts.

The included stand is not the most stable option when it comes to VESA mounts. The stand is one reason for this, as you are limited in making tilt adjustments. It was great to see a monitor with built-in speakers, but you might want to use the speakers built into your Chromebook instead.

  • Curved monitors offer an immersive experience
  • Blue Light Shift helps to reduce eye fatigue
  • Edge-to-edge design
  • Compatible with VESA wall mounts
  • Stand only offers tilt adjustment
  • Built-in speakers are not impressive
  • Included stand is not stable
Sceptre C305w Render

You don't go back once you go curved.

The Sceptre C305W is a solid HD monitor with built-in speakers and a curved display, so you are immersed in whatever you are doing.

It's easy to set up and use the Chromebooks, so your second monitor should be as well. Whether you want a future-proofed 4K display for a home office, a second screen that's as portable as your Chromebook, or a cheap and reliable 1080p display that works as advertised, this round-up includes a selection of the best Chromebooks.

Our top recommendation is the 24-inch 4KLG 24UD58 which offers an incredible selection of features that extends well beyond just using this monitor with your Chromebook. Even if you want to use it with a Windows PC, it is a monitor that will serve you well for years with features like the freesync feature.

Other options on this list, ranging from a premium upgrade to a small but beneficial extra monitor, might fit the bill, depending on how, where, and why you want to use it.
