At least six rockets hit Baghdad International Airport at dawn on Friday, January 28, 2022, while a drone targeted a nearby base housing US troops.
The ex-Iraqi Government A300-B4 is believed to have been damaged by the rocket fire at Baghdad International Airport. The airplane is no longer being used.
The police sources did not report any injuries or damage.
There were rockets that hit in the early morning hours and landed between the civilian and military areas of the Baghdad airport.
Iraqi Airways said in a statement that the attack damaged one of its out-of-service planes but that operations were running normally and no delays were expected.
No one has claimed responsibility for the attack.
