Ben Simmons received two votes to start in the NBA All-Star Game despite not having played in a game this season.

Two backcourt players and three frontcourt players from the Eastern and Western Conferences were picked by the players. The players, fans and media voted on the starter.

Fans picked Simmons to start the showcase, despite no media member choosing him. He finished 25th on the Eastern Conference guard list.

Simmons requested a trade over the summer and is sitting out this season. He returned to the team in October but left soon after.

Over his four-year NBA career, the three-time All-Star has averaged 15.9 points, 8.1 rebound, 7.7 assists and 1.7 steals.
