The World Cup qualification match between Brazil and Ecuador ended in a draw after both teams had a player sent off.

Casemiro scored the first goal of the game in the fifth minute.

After 15 minutes, Alexander Dominguez was sent off for a reckless challenge, and five minutes later, Emerson Royal was also sent off.

The hosts had a goal ruled out.

The top four teams in the South American qualification race will qualify for the World Cup.

Argentina and Brazil have already qualified for the finals.

Brazil goalkeeper Alisson was shown a red card on two separate occasions, only for both to be reversed by the VAR.

One of the two penalty awards was overturned by the VAR in the second half.
