Jeff Garcia goes after Mina Kimes in rant straight out of 1995

Jeff Garcia learned the hard way that you don’t fuck with Mina Kimes.

I thought that we were moving away from the way of thinking that we had in the past. Maybe it's just my echo chamber that doesn't have a voice like Jeff Garcia.

He was signed by the San Francisco 49ers in 1999. The last quarterback to lead the 49ers to the playoffs was Alex Smith in 2011. He is passionate about this franchise, but his recent rant was too much.

Mina Kimes made a joke about the 49ers on First Take. She said that Jimmy Garoppolo is a definition of being part of a group project that gets an A while doing nothing.

In the comments section of the post, he went on a rant that was straight out of a time when Crash Bandicoot was the top of video game technology. He posted 131 words about how Kimes has no business talking about football because she never played, he called her a joke, and then requested a group of knuckle draggers to share his feelings.

Kimes is the social media lethal weapon that she is and she sent out a message that eviscerated Garoppolo in about 16 words and pointed out that she was not the only person who was critical of Garoppolo.

Kimes said that he was the only person to point out that Jimmy Garoppolo didn't play well.

Stephen A. Smith did a very funny imitation of Garoppolo at quarterback on the same episode of First Take. Smith has nicknamed him, Porn-Star Jimmy, which is a good one. He was criticized by his own team for trading up to the No. 3 overall pick in the draft.

I don't know what to think about the whole thing about Kimes. Is he not a big fan of sports television or was he upset when he saw the post on social media? Was the kid who didn't participate in the project? Does he spend his days blowing up at people who criticize Garoppolo on social media?

Maybe he has a problem with a woman talking.

Kimes does not need me to defend her football expertise, but I can't be certain about that. If you want to know how much she knows about the sport, you can listen to her podcast or watch her on NFL Live. She talks about advanced statistics like expected points added, but she also delivers facts that those who fear math more than public speaking and death can appreciate. She pointed out that the front office's poor job at drafting in the first and second round over the last eight seasons has been the biggest problem in recent years.

It's understandable that you want to defend your team. The 49ers gave you the opportunity to play in the NFL, and it was a circuitous path to get there. A former player from the Canadian Football League ended up in the Pro Bowl. Just because you don't like an opinion doesn't mean it's irrelevant. The same way you can be the arbiter of football opinions just because you played in the NFL, you can also be the one to undermine the public's opinion of their food just because the people who eat it have never worked in a restaurant.

Do you think someone who works for Coca-Cola, or a guy who goes off in the comments section of an account for 49ers fans, looks better in this situation?
