Universal Control, a feature that allows multiple Macs and iPads to be controlled with a single mouse and keyboard, was introduced in the iPadOS 15.4 and macOS Monterey 12.3 betas.
Universal Control settings are available on both the Mac and the iPad, and can be enabled by default. On the Mac, the settings can be found under the Advanced section, and on the iPad, the Handoff section has a new option.
You can use the same keyboard and spoliation on any nearby Mac or iPad with Universal Control. If you have a MacBook and an iPad next to it, your keyboard and trackpad can be used on the iPad.
Universal Control was introduced in June at the Worldwide Developers Conference, but the company was not able to meet the deadline, so it was delayed.
In December, Apple updated its macOS Monterey feature page with a release date for Universal Control, which is in line with when we are expecting to see iPadOS 15.4 and 12.3 launch.
