Ye, the artist formerly known as West, will release a new album next month, a follow up to Donda, and a tribute to his late mother.
Donda 2 will be released on February 22, according to the rapper and fashion designer.
Future collaborated with West in the past on Donda 2.
Donda was released in August, and West usually takes about two years to create an album.
10. That's how many albums West has released. Donda 2 will be his 11th. West released an album with Kid Cudi called Kids See Ghost, and the Sunday Service put out an album called Jesus Is Born.
The album is not coming that day because West announced a released date. West's ninth album, Jesus is King, was originally supposed to be released in 2018, but was delayed several times before being released in October. Donda was in the works for almost two years and had three different release dates. West, a notorious perfectionist, is known for meticulously working on his music hours before planned releases, and has even changed albums after they have come out, like he did in 2016 with Life of Pablo.
The art for Donda 2 shows West's childhood home on fire, an image he used to promote Donda. The work was dedicated to his late mother Donda, who died in 2007, and had a profound impact on West. West gave Da Baby and Marilyn Manson a platform during his listening parties after the release of his album featuring controversial figures. Donda was nominated for album of the year. Manson's nomination as a writer on the song was removed for an unknown reason. Steven Victor, one of West's associates and the former chief operating officer of G.O.O.D. Music, teased Donda 2 earlier this month.
There is a sexual abuse investigation against Marilyn Manson.
West officially changed his name to Ye.
