Military Desperately Trying to Recover $100 Million Stealth Jet From Bottom of Ocean

Do you think you had a bad day at work? There is a US Navy pilot out there who crashed a multimillion dollar jet into the ocean, causing it to sink to the bottom of the ocean.

The US military is searching for a $100 million F-35C fighter jet in the South China Sea after its pilot crashed into the aircraft carrier while attempting to land.

It's not surprising that the F-35 is the most expensive weapons system ever built, with an estimated lifetime cost of $1.6 trillion.

The pilot was able to escape the crash by hitting the emergency button.

His jet sank.

The US Navy is making recovery operations arrangements for the F-35C aircraft involved in the incident aboard the Carl Vinson, according to a statement seen by The Independent.

Race Against Russia

The F-35C Lightning II jet has advanced radar and stealth tech, which makes it a big target for US adversaries. It is up to the US military to make sure that countries like Russia and China don't beat them.

We don't know if China is actually looking for it. The military couldn'tspeculate on what the Republic of China intentions are on this matter.

NATO has designated the jet as a Joint Strike Fighter. Considering the saber rattling it is doing against NATO forces outside of Ukraine, Moscow would love to get its hands on it. The US may be hoping to get there before Putin does.

The race is trying to recover stealth technology from the bottom of the South China Sea.
