Katie Taylor-Amanda Serrano megafight set for April 30 at Madison Square Garden

The biggest fight in women's boxing history is on the schedule.

The lightweight title fight between Taylor and Serrano will headline a card in one of the most famous boxing venues in the world. It is the first women's boxing match to headline a stadium.

For this fight to headline at Madison Square Garden would be the epitome of the sport, according to Taylor.

It is such an important venue and to be part of the first ever women's fight to main event there would be truly special.

This fight was booked in the past and fell apart. With a major venue, a headline attraction and major pay-offs for both fighters, it's all set to happen.

Both fighters won their last fights of the year in December. On December 11th, Taylor won a unanimous decision over Firuza Sharipova and a week later, Serrano won a unanimous decision over Miriam Gutierrez.

Taylor and Serrano will fight each other in the ring.

Serrano said that it was the biggest fight for women's boxing.

Cindy Serrano lost to Taylor in Boston in a unanimous decision. The money was much smaller then. It is expected to be the biggest pay out in boxing history, as well as the largest pay out in women's boxing history.

Serrano will be able to say that boxing has done for him after the Taylor fight.

Two of the newest pioneers in the sport are fighting. Taylor fought in the first women's boxing match in Ireland when she was 15. Taylor helped push women's boxing into the mainstream after turning pro.

Over the past six months, Serrano, who for years had been considered one of the best knockout fighters in the sport, received even more attention and notoriety among a broader base of fans after she began fighting on the undercards of Jake Paul's last two fights.

The fight, which will be put on by Matchroom Boxing and Paul and Nakisa Bidarian's Most Valuable Promotions, could be a boon for women's boxing, which has been trying to get more in the conversation of mainstream sports. It was announced almost two years to the day after Paul fought his first pro fight.

Paul said last month that they need to do more big fights for women.

People do care because they should. A lot of people care, but I think a lot more women should care, and a lot more people should care.
