The company confirmed in a post on its website that it will continue to give away games in 2022. Control, Civilization VI, and even the store-crashing Grand Theft Auto V are some of the notable games that have been offered by the company in the past.

The store has more than 200 million users, up 34 million from a year ago. It's hard to say how well Unreal is competing, but comparing peak concurrent user counts indicates that it still has a ways to go to catch up. The peak of concurrent users reported by Epic was over 13 million, while the record peak of nearly 27 million users was reported by Valve.

The addition of a shopping cart in December was the long-awaited addition to the store. Profiles, the ability to prioritize downloads, and improvements to the speed and performance of the game are some of the things to look forward to.
