Monchi, Sevilla's director of football, says that the offer for Diego Carlos was good and respectable, but it was not the right time.

He won the gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics with Brazil last summer.

It was reported that the bid of 30 million dollars was less than the asking price, but they have less than a month to find a replacement.

Monchi said that the management team felt that it wasn't enough.

It is a difficult market to find a replacement for a player like Diego Carlos and it takes place over a very short period of time.

If that offer comes along in the summer, things will change.

Sevilla are four points behind Real Madrid in the race for the title.

They have taken Anthony Martial of Manchester United on a loan until the end of the season and will also be keeping hold of Diego Carlos.

Monchi said that the offer was respectable, but not at the best time.

I talked to him this morning and he was happy because he is staying at the club that really wanted him.

If he was angry, he might change his opinion, but he seems quite happy.
