Frog tissue

Regenerated tissue from a frog.

Kelsie Miller and Hannah Vigran are in the lab.

If adult frog are treated with a device containing a silk gel infused with five regenerative chemicals, they can be able to regrowth a lost leg. The limbs of the frog can move and sense.

Frogs don't have the capacity to regrowth their legs like humans.

Nirosha Murugan says they were looking for a way to start regeneration in an organisms that can regenerate a limb.

The BioDome was previously designed by Murugan and his colleagues. This is made of a silicone outer sleeve surrounding an inner layer containing silk from silkworms that has been processed and incorporated into a hydrogel.
