The new head coach of Hull City will be named at a press conference on Friday.

Grant McCann was fired on Tuesday after the club was taken over by the Acun Medya Group.

In addition to the Netherlands, Turkey, Israel and, most recently, in Uzbekistan, Arveladze's coaching CV includes stops in Turkey, Israel and the Netherlands.

Hull are nine points above the bottom of the Championship.

Acun Ilicali will speak to the press for the first time on Friday since taking over.

In Scotland, the Netherlands and his home country of Georgia, Arveladze scored 26 goals in 61 internationals and league titles.

He moved into coaching after working as an assistant to Louis van Gaal, Ronald Koeman and Dick Advocaat at AZ Alkmaar.

His only silverware has been with the Uzbek side, but he has also worked for Kasimpasa, Trabzonspor and Maccabi Tel Aviv.

He won the league and cup doubles in back-to-back years.

Hull are looking to win their third game in a row when they host Swansea on Saturday, as they did in the last two matches under McCann.
