The Minnesota Vikings are set to hire Kwesi Adofo- Mensah as their new general manager.

Adofo- Mensah will agree to a four-year, $12 million contract, according to a report.

After the Vikings missed the playoffs for the second year in a row, the team decided to fire Spielman at the end of the 2021 season. They have yet to find a new head coach as they focused on a general manager first.

The Vikings have a general manager in Spielman. He had a contract through the 2023 season. Minnesota went 87-72 during his tenure.

The 59-year-old was credited with drafting Harrison Smith. He missed on players like Laquon Treadwell and Mike Hughes.

The Vikings have several players who could help them win a Super Bowl. There are questions about whether Kirk Cousins can lead Minnesota to the promised land.

The Vikings are looking to get back on track, and Adofo- Mensah should be a good fit.

Adofo- Mensah was a college basketball player and worked on Wall Street before getting his first job in the NFL. The 40-year-old was the vice president of football operations for the Browns.

Adofo- Mensah has a degree in economics from Princeton and a master's degree from the same school. He was interviewed for the general manager position of the Carolina panthers last year.

The Vikings haven't had a winning season in a long time.

Minnesota has not played in a Super Bowl since 1976, and it will have to take a big step forward under its new general manager.
