According to the Journal, Young's management lodged a formal request to remove his music on Wednesday, which may take several hours.

We regret Neil's decision to remove his music from the platform, but we hope to welcome him back soon.

Over 40 of Young's albums can be found on the platform.

Representatives for the Joe Rogan Experience did not respond to requests for comment.

In an online message first reported by Rolling Stone Monday, Young accused Spotify of spreading fake information about vaccines by hosting the Joe Rogan Experience. Rogan has drawn controversy in the past for repeating questionable claims. On January 12 a group of 270 doctors, scientists and educators published an open letter urging Spotify to establish a clear policy on misinformation in podcasts. The letter was sent to Rogan, and it was aimed at an episode of his show.
