According to a report, small businesses will soon be able to accept payments with the iPhones. The feature has been anticipated since Apple bought Mobeewave in 2020, and it could be coming via a software update in the coming months.

Mobeewave worked with SAMSUNG to trial a POS system in Canada before launching it worldwide. Apple Pay and other payment services were enabled to accept payments directly from the phone's POS.

It's unclear if Mobeewave's technology will be branded as part of the Apple Pay service, or if Apple will use its own payment network or launch with an existing partner. Mobeewave's staff has been working in Apple's payment division since the acquisition.

The feature-driven point release of iOS 15.3 was more critical than a bug fix. When we get our first look at the feature, Apple is expected to release the first version of the software.
