Poll: Do you care if the Galaxy S22 Ultra launches with less RAM?

Evan Blass is the source.

The S22 Ultra may be the most drastic change of the S series, as the standard and Plus models are not expected to change too much. The S22 Ultra is expected to have a rather curious change to it's configuration.

Rumors and leaks suggest that the base memory on the S22 Ultra will be 8GB, down from the 12GB on the S21 Ultra. The RAM would top out at 12GB. The phone will be the same price as its predecessor, according to rumors.

We want to know if our readers care if the base RAM on the flagship is lowered.

It is possible to argue that your phone doesn't need a lot of storage and that it is just fine for most people. Especially when you take into account the new virtual memory feature in OneUI 4.

Some users may prefer that the S22 Ultra comes with more storage than the S22, since we likely won't have an SD card, or that the cost of the phone goes down to compensate.

There are a lot of factors that could have led to this decision by the company. We are still dealing with the effects of the chip shortage, which has impacted the availability of many of the best Android phones, so that could have some bearing on the decision to ax the 16GB variant. It would be a way to keep the price from going up.

It seems that not everyone is happy with the backtracking on the part of the company. Let us know what you think in the comments, we should learn more once the final specifications are announced.
