The site where Kobe and Gigi Bryant tragically passed away in 2020 has been honored by a statue of the two by a sculptor in Los Angeles. The artist, Dan Medina, says he created a 160-pound bronze figure and pulled it up to the scene in Calabasas via a wagon. The artist tells us that he hopes to put up a larger, more life-sized version of the sculpture at the site. The artwork, which is smaller than Medina hopes it will end up being, is amazing and depicts Kobe in a Lakers uniform with his arm around a basketball player. At the base of the statue, Medina added the names of the nine people who died in the helicopter crash. The words on the base of the statue read, "Heroes come and go, but legends are forever." Kobe, Gigi and the others were on their way to a girls basketball game when the helicopter crashed. On the anniversary of the crash, athletes and celebrities from all over remembered the victims on social media. Lamar was gifted a diamond pendant on Wednesday to honor and remember the Bryants. It's a sad day.
