Samsung Galaxy S22 event: what to expect from Unpacked 2022

There is a launch event coming up. The next Unpacked event will take place on February 9th and we are expecting to see the official announcement of the new flagship phone series from the South Korean tech giant. The first look at trends major smartphone manufacturers will be following for the year is when the highest-specced non-folding phones are from the company.

It is unlikely that phones will be the only thing announced on the 9th. Recent rumors suggest that they're likely to be joined by a new lineup of Tab S8 tablets, which would both succeed the Tab S7 devices that debuted in 2020 as well as adding a new, larger branded tablets. There are rumors of a new smart speaker called theGalaxy Home Mini 2, which is rumored to have recently started production.

We are expecting a complete rundown of everything.

The Galaxy S22 series

The new year will see the introduction of a new lineup of flagship phones from the company, which will include three devices: the S22, S22 Plus, and S22 Ultra. Thanks to a leak from WinFuture, we have a good idea of what their specifications will be. In the US, all three of them will ship with the latest flagship processor from Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, while Europe will likely get the Exynos 2200 processor.

Only the Plus and Ultra will get UWB support to offer full compatibility with the SmartTag Plus trackers, according to reports.

The S22 and S22 Plus appear to be straightforward updates of the S21 and S21 Plus, with both featuring very similar designs to last year's models. Both should have a new design language with camera bumps neatly integrated into the top left corner of the back of the phone, as well as flat displays with hole-punch notch for their selfies.

WinFuture says that they include smaller displays that feature higher peak brightness of 1,500 nits and 1,750 nits compared to 1,300 nits last year, but also include 120Hz displays that feature higher peak brightness of 1,500 nits and 1,750 nits compared to 1,300 nits last year. The phones are around 5mm shorter than last year's models and appear to be hair thinner. It will be interesting to see what impact this has on battery life, as rated battery capacity is said to be a little lower this year at 3,700 and 4,500mAh.

When the rear of the non-Ultra phones is revealed, we are expecting to see two very similar-looking camera bumps, each containing three cameras. Their specifications could be very different from what we saw last year, with higher resolution main cameras but lower resolution telephotos. Both phones will come with 50-megapixel main cameras and 12- and 10-megapixel ultrawides, according to WinFuture. The main 50-megapixel sensor has gotten a size increase to 1/3.94, while the sensor behind the lens has gotten a smaller size.

The larger main sensor may explain why these phones will allow you to own the night and take the best and brightest photos and videos you have ever captured with a phone.

Both phones will have the same amount of RAM and storage as last year. Black, white, pink gold, and green are available.

The S22 and S22 Plus seem to be an update over their predecessors, but the S22 Ultra will reportedly be a different beast. The leaked renders suggest that the S22 Ultra will have a very similar design to the previous Note devices. There is a built-in slot for the S-Pen stylus this time around, which replaces the case holder that was sold for the phone last year.

The most noteworthy S series ever will be announced during the upcoming event. After skipping out on a new phone last year, the company appears to have integrated its features into its most premium device.

The most noteworthy S series ever will be announced during the upcoming event. After skipping out on a new phone last year, it appears that the company is integrating its features into its most premium device.

WinFuture has the rumored details for the device. The S22 Ultra seems to be a very similar device to its predecessor. It has the same size screen, the same battery, the same weight and thickness, and even the same camera resolutions. The S21 Ultra has a choice of 128, 512, or 512GB of storage, but it looks like your RAM options might be limited to 8 or 12GB. The S22 Ultra will be available in black, white, and green as well as burgundy.

WinFuture has a smaller sensor size for its two 10-megapixel telephoto cameras. The leaks suggest that the S22 Ultra may feel very familiar.

In Europe, the S22 will start at around $980 and go up to around $1,200 for the S22 Plus.

The Galaxy Tab S8 series

The company is no doubt hoping that its new lineup of tablets will be a notch above the rest. It hasn't been confirmed that the Tab S8 lineup will appear at the same launch event as the S22, but it has been rumored for months.

There are rumors that the company's new flagship tablet could adopt a similar display notch to the one it mocked Apple for.

The screen sizes for the three tablets are different, ranging from 11 inches for the base Tab S8 through to 12 inches for the Tab S8 Plus and 14 inches for the Tab S8 Ultra. Only the Ultra and Plus have panels withOLED. It's not clear what purpose the additional sensor could serve, but the Ultra also benefits from a second 12-megapixel selfie camera.

5G, S Pen, and wireless DeX support are some of the features that are rumored for the Tab S8 series. WinFuture notes that it could range from as low as $767 for the Tab S8 to as high as $1,378 for the Tab S8 Ultra.

The Galaxy Home Mini 2, maybe?

bear with me here It doesn't seem like there will be a follow-up to the smart speaker that was released in South Korea. According to MySmartPrice, there is a new entry for the smilng home hub on the certification website.

The SM-V320 model number has been linked to a rumored smart speaker in a November report. The speaker went into production earlier this month. SamMobile notes that there is a chance it could be equipped with a display.

It would be a big deal if it were to announce a follow-up to a South Korean-exclusive smart speaker, which itself was a scaled-down model of another smart speaker that famously never shipped. stranger things have happened

Gone but not forgotten, the original (unreleased) Galaxy Home.
